"Our Father" Prayer

Is a unique prayer. Jesus Christ himself is the teacher. It is HE who shows us his own relationship with God through prayer.

JESUS

He does not leave us with a formula that we should repeat mechanically. Instead, He shows us the way of prayer,
so we can get CLOSER to God as CHILDREN.

In prayer of worship

In prayer of worship, we recognize that God is the LORD of our lives. The prayer OUR FATHER includes this call. By following JESUS as he prays, we say even more personally that God is our DAD. We give Him an affectionate and close title: ABBA. These are the words we give to the person who brought us into the world, takes care of us, protects us and is deeply involved in our lives.

We only talk in such a tender way with person closest to us.

Jesus teaches us how to talk to the FATHER by showing us the order of prayer.

At the beginning, we address God personally - DADDY.

Then we say YOU are in heaven, let your name be hallowed let YOUR KINGDOM come and let YOUR WILL be done.

It is a prayer fully dedicated to GOD'S PURPOSES, GOD'S acts and GOD's Heart.

"You, therefore, pray like this:

Our Father who art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name!

May Your kingdom come; may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;

and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us;

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil!

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you , your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

But if you do not forgive others their sin , your Father will not forgive your sins."

Mt 6:9-15

"When Jesus was in a certain place in prayer and had finished praying, one of the disciples said to Him: "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples." And He said to them: "When you pray, say:

Father, hallowed be Your name;

Let your kingdom come!

Give us our daily bread for each day

and forgive us our sins, for we also forgive anyone who trespasses against us;

And do not let us fall into temptation."

Luke 11:1-4

Augustine challenges us by saying:

"Search all the prayers found in the Holy Scriptures, and I don't believe you can find anything in them that is not contained within the Lord's Prayer."

This is why we invite you to join us in a nationwide prayer. Let the heaven hear "Our Father" TOGETHER. This is a prayer of UNITY, shared by all of God's children scattered throughout the world.

LET'S DO WHAT WE CAN DO TOGETHER

As a COMMUNITY

Let us call out to our DAD in heaven with love, without fear, with deep trust

Recognizing Him as DAD of each of us.

For Yours is the kingdom and power and glory forever.
